The Smithsonian Institution
Outrigger Vacation Club would like to introduce sonian. This is the largest museum complex in the world. It is made up of 19 museums, 9 research centers and the National Zoo. Because this is such a large institution, it is important that you plan your trip before you go. Choose the destinations that best fit what you and your family are looking for in your vacation. Some of the to exhibitions for children include How Things Fly, Invention at Play, Dinosaurs and Paleobiology Hall, Hall of Mammals, Insect Zoo and the National Zoo. How Things Fly
A hands on visitor center where you and your children can experiment with gravity and so much more. Learn how birds fly and how we fly as well. This exhibit is located at the Air and Space Museum
Invention at Play
This exhibit focuses on how great inventors invent. Visitors get to “meet” inventors and experience simulators which explore the skills needed to become a great inventor including imagination. This exhibit is located in the National Museum of American History.
Dinosaurs and Paleobiology Hall and The Hall of Mammals
Two of the most popular exhibits for children of all ages. These exhibits allow children to explore life throughout history. One of the upcoming exhibitions focuses on a dive team exploring the deep ocean from Bergen, Norway. It includes art, images models and multimedia events. The Hall of Mammals allows you to explore the diversity that makes mammals so special, how they cope with life and how they change to survive. Both of these exhibits are located in the Natural History Museum.
Insect Zoo
Everything creepy and crawly can be found at the insect zoo. What child doesn’t want to
see live spiders, centipedes and insects from around the world. Read about them, get up close and personal with many and experience the insect world hands on with this great exhibit. Also found at the Natural History Museum.
National Zoo
Almost 200 acres, the National Zoo is located in the heart of Washington D.C. and is open to the public 364 days a year. Home to over 2,000 animals, this is home to 3 Giant Pandas. It offers visitors fun, excitement, educational programs and live animals in recreated habitats which emulate their natural surroundings. It allows visitors to get close to the animals and their handlers and enjoy the natural world at its best.
